All businesses applying for Telpay must be registered. This includes sole proprietors.
To prove that your business is registered, one or more of the following is required (please note that the more information provided often results in a more efficient approval process):
Business Number – your CRA/GST statement provides this. Sole Proprietors are issued a tax number that is for payroll if they have employees.
Articles of Incorporation – verifies name/owner-Senior Officers/ any amalgamations.
Business Registration (certificate) – even Sole Proprietors have to have this.
Brand new Sole Proprietors are asked for Trade References as a last effort to verify active registration. Obtaining these are often what slows the application approval down. Please tell your references to respond ASAP!
